I have been busy with kids getting out of school and finding a job..I really didn't want one but since the kids are home I certainly don't want to be there.(jk)
This week is Stampin Out Alzheimers. I have been busy with some of their challenges they have going on there. Here is my card I made for the Verve Sketch Challenge.
Happy Mommies Day to all the moms out there! I made my mom a card and a stake for outside. I don't have the stake all the way finished yet. Just need the stake! I am a last minute person! For my card I used Lauren's My Time To Inspire Challenge and Tamara's card sketch #94.Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Today is my daughter's 18th birthday party! And she wanted to have a BIG party! She wants it to be fun and be the party of the year. No pressure here! A couple of years ago I did a survivor party for my 13th yr old and that turned out great. Now how can I top that? Well, we are having an amazing chase. Yep! just like The Amazing Race. She invited 20 people... So after tie dying 20 shirts we have our teams! My talented sister did the shirts and then airbrushed the kids' names on the back of them.. Now onto the race...We have a bakery in town that sells he man donuts. Yep! they are shaped like a person! So, my first clue of course had to be about Heman and the Masters of the Universe. Do you think these kids will even have a clue? First Clue: This cartoon character was a prince turned warrior. "By the power of grayskull" He also had an enemy named skeletor. He also is a kids favorite here in town. But he is a little more on the sweeter side! Do you think they will get it? If they figure it out then they go to the bakery and eat a Heman! lol This is just the start to their many destinations! I am making a giant cookie and decorating it like a million dollar check for the winners. I will take pics and post them a little later. Also, they have to do this on foot! No cheating with their cars!
Well It's over now......Whew! They all had fun! My job is done....They had a little trouble but they all did good~ The blue team stayed in the lead for a bit. But pink was right behind them...But the best was the orange who was in last..They were the first to the final destination! Here are some pics......
This sketch is from Twisted Thursday sketch from Shirley's 2 Girls http://www.shirleys2girls.com/products.html and the color challenge (pink, black, & white) is from The Res Q Challenge. http://resqchallenge.blogspot.com/2009/04/challenge-6.html The digi images are my own designs.
Here are some pictures I took of my girls at prom. Kara is a freshman and got asked 2 days before prom....Talk about a hectic 2 days. My older daughter was in the mall shopping and I told her Kara needs a dress. After many pics via cell phone we decided on the purple one. We thought it was going to be too big cuz it was a size 3...But it fit her perfectly....
It's a rainy day here! I guess it's better than snow. I seen Lauren's stocking (My Timeless Templates @ PTI http://www.papertreyink.com/timeless_templates.html) and have seen many other people change them into a rubber boots. So, I decided I would try my hand at it. I did modify the boot differently and made a taller box.
I had a hard time with this one. You ever have an idea in your head and then when you are finished it looks no where near your vision? Well, thats the problem I had with this challenge! So, I have 3 cards I did.
Well, I have had this blog since 2007. Yep! That's right. I am a bad blogger. I started this blog to do as it says. Come Out Of My Shell! I didn't realize it would take me 2 years to do it. I am very shy and like to keep to myself. So, I created this place to come out. I have so many ideas and I get lots of inspiration looking at other people's blogs. I never used to be like this. This blog will be my journey to trying new things. I have a few goals I would like to achieve. My first and foremost is losing weight. Oh yeah the battle of the bulge is here. And I am tired of the 2 chicks that have been following me around the last 15 years. I have tried telling them to leave but they just wouldn't go. So, now I am taking charge and leaving them with the extra pounds.(lol) My next goal is to do more with my talent. I can do so much but yet I don't. That could be lack of motivation.(aka those 2 people I have been carrying around with me) I look forward to watching the biggest loser every tuesday. And I think WOW I can do that. But then I don't. I think where's that bag of chips to eat while I am watching this.... So today is the first day of my new journey. I made a cute book to write down what I ate. They say thats important. I think it just takes up some time so your not putting some food in the old mouth.
Breakfast: I made this wonderful crepe filled with strawberries I couldn't find a healthy version so I came up with my own. 1/4 c whole wheat flour 1 egg white 2T skim milk 2T water Mix the egg white and flour together. Yes this becomes a little stiff. Then add the milk and water. It will be a little lumpy. I use a whisk. Then heat your pan with cooking spray. Cook til you can flip it without breaking it. Then flip and cook til it's done. I used strawberries with some splenda. Then I poured over Walden Farms calorie free strawberry syrup.(Gotta love this stuff! Zero everything!) Then to dress it up I put a dollop of cool whip and drizzled Smuckers sugar free hot fudge. I thought it looked to good to eat. But I did and it was delicious. Hard to believe that it was under 200 calories!
